Drawn further onto the web, Tom drinks to silence the voices invading his dreams, while Carla creates a shrine of notes and red string in her apartment. Treasury analysts, CIA operatives, and even the Bureau itself become entangled in the spiral, chasing phantom funds and recursive signals that seem meant to trap them. But the deeper they go, the line between fact and fiction blurs.

Zeke and Elizabeth's language shifts into the grammar of games, final bosses, PvP arenas, and loot drops until the agents realize the unthinkable: they are not tracking terrorists but players in an elaborate alternate reality.
